When the railway arrived in 1879, the settlement of Mumbil was established and during the construction of Lake Burrendong Dam in 1946 it was the main service centre.

If you are travelling on to Lake Burrendong, Mumbil is your place to stop for supplies.

Fishing and bird watching around the area are great and of course you are just 5-10 minutes away from all the beauty and activities at Lake Burrendong.
